New Wave Intl., L.A., has named Kim Nelson-Frey VP, production. Nelson-Frey was a freelance producer and consultant before joining the large-format (Imax) and ride-simulation film-production outfit.

Rod Cartier has been tapped for the new position of head of sales & marketing at Pittard Sullivan. Cartier joins the graphic design company from ACI, where he was VP, Southeast division manager.

Todd-AO Corp. has appointed Randy Strickley CFO and senior VP, and has named Steve Mullinix VP of sales & marketing, Todd-AO Studios. Strickley joins the company from Bank of America, where he spent 25 years. Mullinix joins from Larson Sound Center.

The Disney Channel has named Susette Hsiung VP of production. She'll monitor and control production expenses, and supervise physical production on movies, series and specials. Hsiung comes to Disney after stints at Panda Entertainment, MTV Asia and MTV Networks.

TVT Records has bumped John Monroe to senior director of national sales and has named John Hammond director of media & advertising. Monroe joined TVT in 1993; Hammond joins the diskery from Rykodisc.

Western Intl. Media has bumped Cheryl Idell to president of strategic planning & research, and has tapped Bruce Goerlich research director.
