Oz women set to honor Obst

SYDNEY --- Lynda Obst, producer of "One Fine Day" and "The Fisher King," is guest of honor at this year's Women in Film and TV Conference.

Other guests at the event, running Thursday through Saturday, include Oz helmers Jane Campion ("The Piano") and Samantha Lang ("The Well"), "Paradise Road" producer Sue Milliken and Liz Barron, head of daytime commissioning for the U.K.'s BBC.

Winners of the org's inaugural awards include veteran producer Joan Long ("Puberty Blues") and cinematographer Mandy Walker ("The Well," "Love Serenade").

Running concurrently with the confab is the seventh annual Women on Women film fest, toplining the Sydney bow of Oz pic "The Road to Nhill."
