Del Valle, who was a newspaperman in San Francisco during the 1930s, was brought to Hollywood by Paramount's publicity department. He also served as a publicist for 20th Century Fox and Columbia Pictures.
One of the founding members of the Publicists Guild, he wrote many stories about the motion picture industry and Hollywood celebrities that appeared under his own byline in numerous newspapers, including the New York Herald Tribune, Chicago Daily News, Atlanta Journal and Los Angeles Times.
In the early 1950s, del Valle became editor of TV Family, which at the time was a competitor of TV Guide. He retired as editor of the Atomics International edition of North American Rockwell News.
He is survived by his wife, Ann, and a daughter.
Family suggests donations in del Valle's name be sent to The Motion Picture and Television Fund, 23388 Mulholland Drive, Woodland Hills, CA 91364.
