Fox Searchlight ups exex
Wilson --- who has worked at Searchlight since it was established in 1994, rising through the ranks from assistant to creative exec before this promotion --- fills a slot left open after the promotion of Joe Pichirallo to VP of production.
Before Searchlight, Wilson worked as an associate producer for indie film production companies in New York and London. His new duties will include helping oversee the development and production of Searchlight's current and upcoming slate. Wilson also will concentrate on discovering and working with new directors and writers, with an emphasis on the U.K.
The AFI grad is the exec in charge of production on the division's summer comedy "The Full Monty."
Gannon --- who has served as Law's assistant --- joined Searchlight from American Playhouse, where he worked for Lindsay Law on such films as "I Shot Andy Warhol" and "Angels and Insects."
In his new job, Gannon is charged with developing the division's feature projects with a special focus on emerging filmmakers. Gannon also is responsible for targeting writing and directing talent arising in Australia. He currently is working with writer-director Tamara Jenkins on the feature "Slums of Beverly Hills."
