Sky Latin America Taps 4 exex

MEXICO CITY --- DTH broadcaster Sky Latin America has hired four new executives for senior management posts.

Walt Sammis has been named senior vice president, operations. He previously worked in Hong Kong as general manager, distribution and marketing, at Satellite Television Asian Region (Star TV).

Star TV, a subsidiary of Sky partner News Corp., is a multichannel Pan-Asian satellite TV service.

Bethany Bunnell, VP of creative services, also joins Sky from Star TV, where she was the director of creative services.

John Duff has been hired as veep of programming. He previously worked as the director of programming acquisition and development for DirecTV International, Sky's rival in DTH.

Miro Copic, most recently VP, marketing and strategic planning, for Latam snack food manufacturer Savoy Brands Intl., has been appointed veepee of sales and marketing.

Sky is a joint venture formed by media companies News Corp., Tele-Communications Intl., Brazil's Globo and Mexico's Grupo Televisa.
