Hannah, Matheson join 'Circus'

Daryl Hannah and Tim Matheson have been cast to star in "We Are Circus," the sixth and final installment in Showtime's three-film, six-part Holocaust series "Rescuers: Stories of Courage" from Barwood Films in association with Paramount Network TV.

Production is skedded to begin next week in Toronto.

Each movie in the fact-based "Rescuers" trilogy includes a pair of stories dramatizing the heroism of gentiles who risked their lives to hide, or aid, Jewish refugees during World War II.

"We Are Circus" casts Hannah and Matheson as a gentile couple who own a small traveling circus and use it to shield Jewish refugees from Nazi persecution. Tony Bill ("My Bodyguard") directs from a script by John Pielmeier. Barwood partners Barbra Streisand and Cis Corman are executive producers.
