Sylvia John Passaris

Sylvia John Passaris, a longtime accounting manager for former Los Angeles radio station KMPC, died June 21 of heart failure in Prescott, Ariz. She was 70.

Born in 1927 in Wisconsin, she moved with her family to San Francisco and later settled in Los Angeles. During the 1940s and 1950s, she worked as an actress in local theater productions.

She joined KMPC in the mid-'60s. A member of AFTRA, she also did some comedy voice work for station disc jockey Dick Whittinghill.

After she left KMPC, Passaris became an ordained minister for the Healing Light Center church and also served as the church's account manager until retiring in 1995. She moved to Prescott last year.

She is survived by a her son, Lex Passaris, a TV director, and two brothers.

Family suggests donations in Passaris' name be sent to the Adult Center of Prescott, Inc., P.O. Box 1090, Prescott, AZ 86302.
