Cathleen Cordell

Cathleen Cordell, an actress whose career included Broadway, the British stage and television, died Aug. 19 of emphysema at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She was 82.

Her career began in New York, but she spent World War II in England, acting in the BBC plays "Design for Living" and "Arms and the Man." She made her film debut in the British version of "Gaslight."

She returned to the United States after the war, appearing in radio soap operas and feature films and on the Broadway stage. Film titles included "Return of the Living Dead," "MASH" and "Airport."
