Braver's new world: Senior correspondent
Beginning in September as a senior correspondent, she'll contribute to "Public Eye With Bryant Gumbel," "The CBS Evening News With Dan Rather" and "Sunday Morning." She will continue as one of the substitute anchors of "Face the Nation."
Braver has been CBS News' chief White House correspondent since 1993. She'll be replaced in that role by Scott Pelley, who's been at CBS News since 1989, based in the Dallas bureau until now. He recently covered the Timothy McVeigh trial of the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing.
Braver spent 25 years at CBS and won four Emmys, including one for investigative reporting.
A spokesman for the web said the move was "something she wanted, she's been hankering for" since she joined the White House beat in 1993.
