'Monty' strips another week atop exclusives

NEW YORK --- Fox Searchlight's "The Full Monty" continued to strut its stuff on top of the exclusives roster.

Peter Cattaneo's comedy about steelworkers-cum-strippers revealed a brawny $202,122 in six nightclubs in Gotham and Los Angeles.

Miramax's "Shall We Dance?" showed enough leg to capture the No. 2 slot on the list. The Masayuki Suo-helmed pic foxtrotted to the tune of $59,833 in five ballrooms on both coasts.

Sony Classics' "In the Company of Men" was the third-most-popular limited release film over the Labor Day weekend. Neil LaBute's dark tale of two middle managers who prey on a vulnerable secretary conquered $48,361 in six boardrooms in Los Angeles and New York.

Several films reported higher grosses over the weekend, which does not include Monday's box office. Among them were "The Full Monty" and "Mrs. Brown" on the West Coast, and "Fire" and "Shall We Dance?" in New York.
