Dick Clark earnings jump 15% for year

Dick Clark Prods. posted a 15% increase in per-share earnings for fiscal year 1997, which ended June 30.

DCP's net income was up 16% over fiscal 1996, to $6.5 million on revenue of $66.1 million. That translated to earnings of 78¢ per share, compared with earnings of 68¢ per share in 1996. For fourth-quarter '97, also ended June 30, DCP reported net income of $1.05 million on revenue of $23 million.

DCP said its growth over the past year was due to increased activity in its TV production unit and the opening of three new outlets in its restaurant chain, Dick Clark's American Bandstand Grill.
