Based in London, Stroud will serve as MGM's primary liaison with United Intl. Pictures for both MGM and UA theatrical product, and will serve on a number of UIP committees. UIP is the international film distrib formed by a consortium of the Paramount, Universal and MGM studios.
Stroud will report jointly to Larry Gleason, prez of worldwide theatrical distribution, and Gerry Rich, prexy of worldwide theatrical marketing. She replaces Guy Laurence, who in mid-summer announced plans to resign as exec vice president of the division.
Before joining MGM, Stroud served as managing director at the Picture Production Co., a London creative services firm. From 1981-1996, she worked as VP of international advertising at UIP.
