Dodi, who helped found and launch MTV Europe, will devote much of her efforts to building audience awareness of Entertainment Asylum as an online network that will create original entertainment-oriented programming, replete with celebrities, news and audience interactivity.
"My role here is to build a brand out of this service," Dodi said. "The key success factor is the product --- we have to build something where people want to come back again and again."
Dodi joins Entertainment Asylum as the group is poised to debut several cyberspace programs next month in what will be the Culver City-based production company's first fall season.
Dodi will manage daily operations, and will work to develop relations with advertisers and cross-promotional partnerships.
Following her work at MTV Europe, Dodi spearheaded the restructuring of Disney's consumer products business in Europe, and later worked at Warner Bros. Intl. Television.
Dodi is also a former semi-pro soccer player and onetime Eileen Ford model.
Among the types of online programming Entertainment Asylum is planning are informational sites about TV and movie listings, entertainment news and interactive genre sites for fans of sci-fi, comedy and other areas.
It will also produce offline events that will help fuel online network with content, Dodi said.
Entertainment Asylum, founded by the late Brandon Tartikoff and interactive entertainment pioneer Scott Zakarin, is owned by Greenhouse Networks, a division of America Online.
