Vin Scully honored by TV Academy

The activities advisory committee of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences pays homage Thursday to much-decorated Los Angeles Dodgers play-by-play voice Vin Scully with a "A Tribute to Vin Scully" beginning at 7:30 p.m. in ATAS' Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.

KTLA sports anchor Ed Arnold serves as the event moderator, with guests including Dodger prexy Peter O'Malley, actor John Forsythe and vocalist Sue Raney.

Former Dodger manager Tommy Lasorda --- a recent inductee to baseball's Hall of Fame --- heads a panel discussion along with Spanish-language Dodger voice Jaime Jarrin, L.A. Times sports editor Bill Dwyre and basketball Hall of Famer Ann Drysdale. A reception follows at 9:30 p.m. Jeff Rose produces the event.

Admission is free for ATAS members and one guest. The fee for nonmembers is $15.
