Ronald E. Guttman, former deputy general counsel and veep for litigation at Sony Pictures Entertainment, has joined L.A.-based law firm Christensen, White, Miller, Fink & Jacobs. Guttman, who was previously at CBS, supervised litigation at SPE and its subsids.
Tracy Masington has been upped to director of national publicity for Universal Pictures. Masington, who worked on the publicity campaigns for "Jurassic Park,""Scent of a Woman" and "Do the Right Thing," will be responsible for planning and implementing national publicity campaigns in all media.
Claire Kilfoyle, an administrator at Filmation Studios, has been named director of sales administration for DIC Intl. Sales. The DIC Animation City wing named Linda Garcia, also from Filmation, manager of sales servicing.
Former Walt Disney Studios exec Clark Peterson has been upped to VP, creative affairs, for L.A.-based Image Organization . Peterson is in Montreal overseeing shooting of "The Paperboy," Image's joint venture with Allegro Films.
TV and theatrical distribber Prism Entertainment upped Kelly Nielsen to VP, creative services, and named Christopher Perry-Melish manager of distribution services. Separately, Prism, which is making a global push, has signed a year dealwith Rogers & Cowan to handle worldwide publicity and public relations.
Davis Hays has been promoted to executive producer at Efilm, a Hollywood firm that transfers video and high-resolution digital images to film. The company also hired Michael Cooper as executive technical director.
Paul Gendreau has been upped to director of publicity at Fox Broadcasting Co. He joined Fox as a manager from Lorimar TV.
