CBC president resigns

Gerard Veilleux has resigned as president and chief executive of the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. The company didn't immediately announce a replacement.

Veilleux, an appointee of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney in 1989, is expected to leave his post this fall. His term wasn't to expire until next year.
