Gould spent many years in the motion picture industry as a publicist and later as a senior executive in the advertising departments of 20th Century Fox, United Artists and Paramount Pictures.
Gould, who became a film publicist shortly after graduating from the Columbia University School of Journalism in 1935, was the first president of the Screen Publicist Guild on the East Coast.
During World War II, he served as an intelligence officer in London for the Office of Strategic Services, the organization recognized as key in penetrating Hitler's military operations.
Gould is survived by a daughter, Barbara Gould Plesser, and a son, Jonathan Gould.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Temple Sinai in Washington, D.C. Interment of the ashes will follow at Arlington National Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made in Gould's name to the Hospice of Washington.
