Cross, Spezialy ink pact with U

Producing team Alan Cross and Tom Spezialy have signed an exclusive deal with Universal TV to develop and produce comedy series for both the networks and cable.

The pair, who were recently producers on the Columbia Pictures TV series "Parker Lewis," are currently developing and will co-exec produce an NBC midseason pilot starring Norman D. Golden II, the child star featured in the the current Universal feature release "Cop and a Half."

Cross and Spezialy will also serve as supervising producers on the USA Network series "Weird Science," which has a 13-episode order.

Basic cabler USA is half-owned by Universal parent MCA in partnership with Paramount.
