Arnold joins Arnold in Cameron's 'Lies'
Arnold, whose feature credits include "Hero,""Undercover Blues" and a cameo in the upcoming "Coneheads," will have a semi-comical role as Schwarzenegger's longtime partner in an elite intelligence task force designed to stop international nuclear terrorism.
"Lies" was written and will be directed and produced by Cameron with principal photography to begin next month. It is the first film to emerge out of a multiyear production agreement between Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment, 20 th Century Fox and several foreign partners.
"This is primarily an action-adventure film and, consequently, it's a startlingly different role for Tom," Cameron said.
Arnold also has several television commitments with his wife, Roseanne Arnold , including continuing as producers (and star, in her case) of ABC's "Roseanne," along with an agreement with the web to develop new series and specials.
The Arnolds had been previously set to do a feature film at Columbia, called "Car Picture," which went into turnaround in May.
A new TV show starring Tom Arnold is in development at CBS for a midseason debut. Sources say he probably would not begin work on that show until the fall.
