Stock prices hit another high

Key stock prices moved to a record high for a second day, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 23.25 to close at 3523.28.

A number of Hollywood issues made sharp advances.

Disney, a stock in the Dow index, was up 2 1/2 to 44. And Paramount added 1 1/2 to close at 54.

Broadcaster CBS was up 2 3/8 to $ 232.625, and Capital Cities/ABC was up 9 to 535.

Time Warner, on the heels of its annual meeting, was up 1 to $ 37.25.

Cable operators also benefited, with Viacom up 1 to $ 46.625, Tele-Communications adding 1 1/4 to $ 21.25, and Liberty Media up 3/4 to $ 21.

Falling off on poor earning reports were Matsushita, down 2 1/2 to $ 114.59, and Sony, off 1/8 to $ 41.875.
