Dan Dryden
Dryden, a Madison, Wis., native who received his B.A., M.A. and M.F.A. in theatre design from the U. of Wisconsin, served on the faculty of Theatre Design at the U. of California, San Diego, from 1972-77.
In 1977 Dryden was responsible for the redesign of the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival and also served as scenic designer for seven of its productions.
The following year Dryden received the Atlas Award for Best Scenic Design for the Old Globe Theater production of "Sleuth."
In 1984 he served as technical supervisor for the Olympics Art Festival in Los Angeles and subsequently assumed the position of Adjunct Professor at UCLA for three production seasons.
More recently he served as scenic designer for the new Shamu Stadium at Sea World in San Diego and also as production designer for Universal Studios' E.T. Adventure Ride Attraction, in both Hollywood and Florida.
Survived by his wife, Deborah and a brother.
A celebration of his life will be held at his home in San Diego on May 23.

Rosemary Sylvestor
Rosemary Sylvestor, 92, wife of John Sylvestor, a member of Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists Local 706, died May 2 of pneumonia at the Motion Picture & Television Hospital in Woodland Hills.
She is survived by her husband.
