Kaza was recruited after a lengthy exec search to replace Gary Marenzi, who left last summer to become MGM's president of international TV distribution in L.A.
Previously, the U.S.-born Kaza was director of marketing and new product development at Comcast U.K., which has extensive cable interests in London, Cambridge and the Midlands.
A six-year Comcast vet, he was in charge of the cabler's U.S. pay-per-view operations on 30 systems before moving to the U.K. in 1990.
For the past eight months he was working to set up a pay-per-view movie channel in London, linking the capital's four major cable companies. That project, Cable Video Store, never materialized.
