'Love' coming early to KCBS
"Connection," which had been slated to move from KCAL-TV to KCBS' access sked in the fall, will replace the strip version of Genesis Entertainment's "Emergency Call" at 7:30 p.m. weekdays. "Call" had run in the slot forthe past few months.
The long-running relationship show became available earlier than expected following KCAL's decision last month to replace the 5 p.m. edition of "Connection" with a second run of WB's "Jane Whitney Show."
KCBS general manager Steve Gigliotti said the early arrival of "Connection" will permit the station to get a "running start" on promoting it over the summer.
Another factor in the decision, according to Gigliotti, is that "Connection" is highly compatible with the strong women demos provided by its lead-in, Genesis' "Real Stories of the Highway Patrol."
