'Turtles 3' wins marketing award

New Line Cinema's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III" has been awarded the Film Information Council's Film Marketing Award for the month of March.

In the determination of the citation, the organization of marketing, public relations and promotion exex cited the challenge of promoting a sequel as unique and special. Additionally, the film was praised for its teaser trailers, TV commercials and charity promotions.

It is the first time a New Line film has received the prize, which was instituted late in 1992. Previous two winners were Columbia's "Groundhog Day" and Miramax's "The Crying Game."
