U.S. Pavilion hosts helmer conference

Abel Ferrara, Victor Nunez, Jim McBride and Philip Haas will be among the American directors participating in the Cannes May 17 press conference at the American Pavilion, moderated by Roger Ebert.

Kodak is sponsoring the event for the fourth year in a row, hosted by New York's Independent Feature Project. Other participants include Allen & Albert Hughes (debuting with the feature "Menace II Society"), Michael Steinberg ("Bodies, Rest and Motion"), Tony Chan ("Combination Platter") and Thomas Fucci ("Don't Call Me Frankie").
