Miami's Fox affil to buy WHDH

The Fox affiliate in Miami, WSVN, has reached an agreement to buy WHDH, the Boston CBS affil, in a cash deal worth $ 204 million.

WSVN, owned by the Sunbeam TV Corp., telecasts seven hours of local news daily. That's "more local news than any other television station in the country, " said Edmund Ansin, owner and president of Sunbeam TV. WSVN also gets solid ratings with such daily syndicated series as "Inside Edition,""Arsenio,""In the Heat of the Night,""Hawaii 5-0" and "Hill Street Blues."

The deal is subject to FCC approval.
