Zoo's Green Jello shakes old name

Zoo Entertainment artists Green Jello have changed their name because of a trademark dispute with General Foods Corp., maker of Jell-O. The band will henceforth be known as Green Jelly.

In addition to the name change, the band has deleted the video "Cereal Killer" from its longform video because of potential trademark conflicts over use of cereal characters like Toucan Sam and the Lucky Charms leprechaun.

All newly manufactured videos, CDs and cassettes will feature the Green Jelly name.

"We encountered some claims with respect to trademarks and have decided to take this action at this early stage in the band's career, rather than risk legal action which might distract the public from the creative goals our band is seeking to achieve," said a joint statement from the record company and management.
