Paramount Pictures' romantic drama "Intersection," starring Richard Gere, Sharon Stone, Lolita Davidovich and Martin Landau, began principal photography March 22. Directed by Mark Rydell, the film was written by Marshall Brickman and David Rayfiel, inspired by the French film, "Les Choses de la Vie."

Friends of Short Films and the Governors of AMPAS' Short Film Branch are hosting a special reception to celebrate short films and honor past and present Academy Award nominees in the three short film categories -- live action, documentary and animation -- tonight at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Walt Disney Studios is sponsor.
