Since joining the agency in January, Dardis has sold two major spec scripts, Cory Tynan and John Ries' "Ghosthunter" to Cinema Line and Chris Miller and Mary Hale's "Multiplicity" to Columbia Pictures for director Harold Ramis.
Before joining APA, Dardis headed the lit department at Susan Smith & Associates, from where he brokered such high-profile spec sales as Diane Drake's "Him" for $ 1 million to TriStar; Elisa Bell's "Thirty Wishes" to Universal Pictures for Michael J. Fox to star in and direct; Mike France's "Cliffhanger" to Carolco, the Sylvester Stallone starrer that TriStar will release in May; and Andrew Chapman's "Sea Wolf" to Columbia Pictures.
In his new post at APA, Dardis will report to senior VP Stuart Miller and APA prexy Roger Vorce and be responsible for coordinating the efforts of the feature lit division. The other agents in the department are Lee Kappelman, David Saunders and Cory Concoff.
Regarding his new position, Dardis said yesterday that the agency plans to expand the department in the near future with the hiring of additional lit agents.
Dardis initiated his career at The Agency in 1988, joining Susan Smith & Associates in March 1990.
APA topper Vorce said of Dardis' appointment, "In the last five months (since the deaths of former APA head Marty Klein and John Gaines), we've come a long, long way. As far as I'm concerned, I'm committed to make this the best medium-sized office in world and this is part of the reorganization to get there."
