Promoter Rissmiller creates new firm
Jim Rissmiller was formerly involved in the Wolf & Rissmiller concert promotion firm -- the top concert promotion firm in Los Angeles in the 1970s.
He was also a co-founder of a 1964 edition of Concert Associates in conjunction with partners Bob Eubanks, Steve Wolf and Arnold Shapiro.
Rissmiller said the new Concert Associates will seek to establish its niche with "festival" events.
"It is not our intention to compete with presenters of regular touring artists," Rissmiller said. "Today's concert promoters seem content with the status quo, and many areas of viable entertainment are falling between the cracks. It is the mandate of the new Concert Associates to identify those voids and create events to fill them."
