DGA to honor sports' Coyle
The award will be given during the 45th annual DGA awards banquet held in New York.
During his career, Coyle directed the World Series for 35 years, 28 All-Star games, the first Super Bowl, 30 Rose Bowl games, 11 World Series of Golf, 10 U.S. Open golf tournaments and 12 NFL championship games.
"Harry Coyle helped to shape the history of television sports," noted Gene Reynolds, DGA Awards Committee co-chair. "The impact of his work on the profession is still felt today."
