Skywalkers ankle to Sony

Sony Pictures has scored a coup by wooing two top sound mixers from Skywalker Sound.

Kevin O'Connell and Rick Kline, who have won a combined 13 Oscar nominations, will be working at Sony's post-production sound facilities, where they had a hand in designing the state-of-the-art digital mixing consoles in the renovated Cary Grant Theater.

Their first job will be re-recording mixing on "I'll Do Anything," the new James Brooks musical for Columbia in August.

"Sony is putting so much effort into the future of sound and it seems they're really interested in keeping their finger on the pulse of the future," said O'Connell.

Not only will they be doing Sony projects, including "North" for Rob Reiner, but the duo have lined up two Larry Kasdan films for Warner Bros. in 1994 and Ridely Scott's "Pancho's War," for Paramount.
