U Operations promotes four
Watters has been upped to executive VP, where he will continue to report to Dan Slusser, senior veep and general manager of Universal City Studios.
Since joining Universal in 1977, Watters has been senior VP of postproduction for MCA Television Entertainment and, most recently, senior VP of the Studio Operations Group.
Stumpf, a 25-year MCA veteran, has been promoted to senior veepee of engineering and development. He will work closely with Joerg Agin, senior VP of new technology and business development, and Slusser.
Sperry, previously director of the transportation department, has been promoted to director of studio operations systems. Sperry, who will report directly to Watters, joined Universal in 1981 as director of transportation.
Van Order, formerly operations manager of Universal's transportation department, has been promoted to director of transportation. Van Order, who joined the studio in 1978, will also report to Watters.
