NBC ups Falco, Sherlock in tech exec remix

NBC has shuffled the top layer of management in its technical operations division, naming Randel Falco president of broadcast and network operations and shifting Michael Sherlock to exec VP of technology.

Falco, who joined the web in 1975, most recently served as head of its coverage of the Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

Sherlock was president of operations and technical services.

Falco will oversee facilities and operations of the NBC Television Network on both coasts.

He held a series of managerial positions in finance, technical operations and strategic planning at the web before moving into sports accounting in 1986 as VP finance and administration at NBC Sports.

Sherlock, 55, who led the network's entry into high-definition TV, has run the operations/tech services department since 1982 and been its president since 1986.
