Also, MGM's "Lion's Pride" film package (including "Thelma and Louise"), which is being offered to stations on a cash basis, has cleared WPVI, Philadelphia; KPIX, San Francisco; KTVT, Dallas; KHTV, Houston, KSTW; Seattle; KPHO, Phoenix; and WJZY, Charlotte, N.C.
Twentieth Television's "Cops," which has been sold in 65 markets covering 68% of the country in advance of its fall syndication debut, scored a record 7.4/12 share across its 14 metered markets for the week ending Jan. 15. That's 23% greater than the 6/10 the show achieved during Nielsen's November sweeps.
After what it termed a "highly successful" test run in selected markets, Vision Intl. says it is syndicating the interactive sports memorabilia show "Johnny Bench's All-American Sports Club" nationally. Vision and All-American Television are jointly handling syndication sales. The show is the first produced under the international film sales, marketing and distribution company's newly created Vision Teleproductions.
Kushner-Locke will produce "Profiles," four-one hour specials for Arts & Entertainment Network, with first episode debuting in March. Hosted by Peter Graves, featured subjects will include Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley and recently convicted crime boss John Gotti.
