Rock Hall of Fame dinner open to public

Single tickets to the eighth annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction dinner are being sold to the general public for the first time, according to the Hall Foundation.

The dinner, set for Jan. 12 in Los Angeles at the Century Plaza Hotel, has seats priced at $ 750, $ 1,250 and $ 1,500.

Tables of 10 are priced at $ 7,500, $ 12,500 and $ 15,000.

The 1993 inductees are Ruth Brown, Cream, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Doors, Etta James, Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers, Van Morrison, Sly & the Family Stone, Dinah Washington, Dick Clark and Milt Gabler.

Joel Gallen, who produced the MTV Video Music Awards, will serve as the show's producer. Robbie Robertson is music producer and Don Was is music director. Chairman for the dinner committee is Bob Krasnow, Elektra Records chairman, joined by co-chairs Al Teller, chairman of MCA Music Entertainment Group, Irving Azoff, co-owner of Giant Records; and Joe Smith, president/CEO Capitol-EMI Music.
