Benson to voice 'Exosquad' lead for MCA TV

Actor Robby Benson, who provided the voice of the Beast in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast," has been signed to handle similar chores for the lead character in MCA TV's new animated firstrun syndie series "Exosquad."

The futuristic half-hour action/adventure series from Universal Cartoon Studios, the first spoke in MCA TV's launch of its Universal Family Network, is set to premiere next fall.

Universal Cartoon Studios prexy-founder Jeff Segal will serve as exec producer. Jim Graziano, formerly of Marvel and Warner Bros., is the exec in charge of production, and Will Meugniot, associated with DIC, Marvel and Hanna-Barbera, will produce.
