CBS still on top in daytime
CBS, the nation's daytime powerhouse, had six of the top 10 and five of the top six regularly scheduled daytime programs. ABC had three of the top 10 and NBC placed one entry on the list.
ABC gets women's attention
ABC, however, was first in the key marketing demographic of women 18-48 winning the week with a 4.0/24. CBS had a 3.3/21 and NBC a 1.7/11.
The Eye Web's daytime schedule accounted for a 5.9/20 household rating to ABC's 5.0/17 and NBC's 2.9/10. For the season to date, CBS carries a 5.6/21, ABC a 4.6/17 and NBC a 2.9/11.
ABC's "Good Morning America" walked off with the breakfast gabfest title by posting a 4.3/18 for the week. NBC's "Today" had a 3.7/17 and CBS' "This Morning" earned its 10th consecutive 3.0 rating (13 share) to finish third. CBS' show is up 20% compared to the same week a year ago and 15% higher than the season average at this time last year.
'GMA' in season
As expected, "GMA" is leading the way in the seasonal morning race, but only by 0.2 of a ratings point over "Today." The two shows are tied in share at 19. ABC also wins among adults 18-49 for the time period with "GMA" accounting for a 1.8/19 with that group. "Today" pulls up second with a 1.6/18 and CBS is in third with a 1.1/12.
According to figures for the late night hours--the holiday week upset schedules--NBC's "Tonight" posted a 5.8/15 for the half-hour between 11:30 p.m. and midnight. ABC's "Nightline" was second for the period with a 5.1/14 and CBS' "Crimetime" did a 3.4/9.
"Tonight" earned a 5.1/15 for the full hour during the week, its best average rating and share since the week of June 22, 1992. The numbers were based on a three-day average because it was preempted Dec. 24 and a rerun started late on Christmas Day because of a basketball overrun.
