Jacksons' destiny bound for Vegas' bright lights
Jackson Communications Inc., an entity that represents the Jacksons' interests in entertainment and communications, is partnering with Gaming Entertainment Management Services Inc. to manage a 40,000-square-foot facility that features a television and recording studio, plus nightclub, restaurant and wedding chapel.
According to GEMS, the partnership, to be called the Jackson Family's Destiny , will equally split the revenues.
GEMS, a Las Vegas developer, is also building a 400-room hotel and casino called the Desert Wind adjacent to the facility.
The entire development will cost $ 87 million, according to Tim Dougall, a partner in the projects' designers WDT Associates. GEMS has earmarked $ 10.5 million for construction and furnishing the Jackson's facility, with any additional costs to be paid for by Jackson Communications.
Construction is slated to start in early 1993, with an opening planned for spring 1995.
According to a release, Jermain Jackson is vice chairman of Jackson Communications, which represents the entire family, but it is unclear whether that includes younger sibling Michael.
