Zellweger, Connick Jr. get 'Chilled'

Elmer will direct 'Miami'

Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr. are in negotiations to team in Gold Circle Films' fish-out-of-water comedy "Chilled in Miami." Danish writer-director Jonas Elmer is aboard to helm.

Penned by Ken Rance and C. Jay Cox, script centers on a Miami businesswoman who's transferred to the sticks of Minnesota.

Project, formerly titled "32 and Single," was originally set up at Universal Pictures. Gold Circle has a first-look deal at U, which will likely distribute.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in January in Miami and Winnepeg.

Darryl Taja, Peter Safran, Tracey Edmonds and Paul Brooks are producing.

Zellweger will film New Line Cinema's Ed Harris-helmed Western "Appaloosa," opposite Viggo Mortensen, in the fall before segueing to "Chilled."

Connick Jr. most recently appeared onscreen in the Lionsgate thriller "Bug." Elmer, who directed the Danish-language drama "Let's Get Lost," most recently helmed the 2005 comedy "Nynne," which was dubbed the Danish "Bridget Jones."
